The Durmitor Trail 50 km starts and finishes at the Stadium in Žabljak and takes runners on a complete loop through the high mountain heart of Durmitor.
After leaving town, the course climbs past Barno jezero to Momčilov Grad and Jablan jezero, then descends to the aid station at Bosača. From there runners pass Zminje jezero and continue through Ališnica and Botun toward the remote mountain hut at Škrka.
The most demanding part of the race follows: the climb through Škrčko Ždrijelo to Šarban and Sedlo, and the open high-mountain traverse past Modro and Stožina to Savin Kuk. The final kilometres descend through forest past Crno jezero and Vojno to the finish at the Stadium.
Entry requires a qualifying result achieved between 1 January 2024 and 31 May 2027 – for example a race with any UTMB Index, a race worth at least 1 ITRA point, or the 21 km, 42 km or 65 km at Durmitor Trail 2024–2026. Full requirements are in the Rules & Regulations.
