The Ten Lakes 42 km race starts at Riblje Jezero, in the wide open highland landscape of Durmitor. From the first kilometers, runners move through a scenic lake plateau, passing through quiet mountain terrain before gradually entering more demanding sections of the course.
The route continues toward Sedlo, the first major aid station and cut-off point. This part of the race introduces the mountain character of Ten Lakes: open views, changing terrain, steady climbing, and exposed sections shaped by Durmitor’s dramatic landscape.
After Sedlo, runners continue toward Savin Kuk, one of the key points of the race. This section is among the most demanding and memorable parts of the course, combining high mountain terrain, technical trails, climbs, and panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
From Savin Kuk, the route descends and transitions toward Zminje Jezero, entering forested and rolling terrain as it returns closer to the Crno Jezero area. After passing Zminje Jezero, runners continue toward Momčilov Grad, the final aid station before the last stretch of the race.
The final kilometers lead runners back toward Crno Jezero, where the race finishes. Ten Lakes is a true mountain marathon through some of Durmitor’s most beautiful terrain, combining lakes, forests, alpine trails, climbs, descents, and wide panoramic views.
