Durmitor Trail is a two-day international outdoor sports event held annually on the spectacular mountain trails around Žabljak, Montenegro.
The 3rd edition of Durmitor Trail includes five races and will take place from 11–12 July 2026.
Planned routes are described and published on the official Durmitor Trail website. Final routes, GPS files, start information, and race updates will be communicated through the official website and email channels.

Aid stations will be available on selected race routes. Depending on logistics and availability, they may provide water, soft drinks, fruit, sweet and savoury food, and other basic race support.
Participants remain responsible for carrying enough water and food between aid stations, in accordance with the principle of semi-autonomy.

All runners must carry the mandatory equipment for the entire duration of their race. Equipment checks may be carried out before, during, or after the race.

The following equipment is recommended, depending on the race distance, weather conditions, and personal needs:
Poles are allowed, but they must be carried for the entire race.
Leaving poles on the course or at aid stations is prohibited. Participants must finish the race with all equipment they started with.
The Organizer is not responsible for lost, damaged, or discarded equipment.
Each participant receives a race bib after presenting a valid photo ID during the registration process.
The race bib must be clearly visible at all times, positioned over clothing, and kept intact. Altering, folding, cutting, or covering printed elements of the race bib is not allowed.

Each runner receives a number for a drop bag during race check-in. The drop bag is intended for personal items needed after the race and must be clearly labelled with the runner’s bib number.
Drop bags must be deposited in the designated area before race start where applicable.
For the 65 km and 42 km races, bags are transported from the start area to the finish area at Crno Jezero.
Drop bags must be collected within 30 minutes after the race cut-off time.
Valuables, electronics, or fragile items should not be placed inside drop bags. The Organizer is not responsible for lost or damaged property.
Poles are not allowed in drop bags.
Unclaimed bags will not be shipped after the event.
All races begin with a mass start.
Participants must arrive at the designated start location at least 30 minutes before race start for technical briefing and check-in.
Bus transport is organized only for the 65 km and 42 km races. Runners must gather at Žabljak town square / Trg Durmitorskih ratnika exactly one hour before race start.
The shuttle bus transfers:
Late arrivals will not be allowed to start.
All courses will be clearly marked with visible trail markers, flagging, or signs. No additional signage or painted markings will be applied in forest areas in order to protect the environment.
Runners must follow the marked route at all times. Shortcuts and unmarked paths are strictly forbidden.
If a participant cannot see trail markings for more than 200 meters, they should turn back to the last known marker.
GPS tracks for each race will be made available on the official Durmitor Trail website.
Participants are strongly advised to download the latest GPS track before the event and make sure their GPS-capable device is charged and usable offline.
The Organizer may update GPS files in case of last-minute course adjustments.
Intermediate cut-offs and finish time limits are enforced for participant safety and efficient race organization.
Additional cut-off points may be confirmed before the event if required.

All participants who complete their race within the official time limit will receive a finisher medal.
After crossing the finish line at Crno Jezero, runners of all races will have access to:
Minimum age requirements must be fulfilled on the day of the race.
Participants under 18 years of age must submit a document signed by a parent or legal guardian expressly allowing them to compete before the event.

Awards are granted at the sole discretion of the Organizer and event sponsors.
Final rankings are determined based on overall classification and gender categories: Male (M) and Female (F).
Overall winners from 1st to 3rd place, male and female, may receive trophies and sponsor-provided prizes.
Age category winners may receive official certificates or sponsor-provided awards, depending on the Organizer’s decision.
Age categories are defined according to the participant’s age on race day.
